Clairette is an unincorporated community in Erath County, Texas, United States located in the Southern part of the county along Texas State Highway 6 and the Bosque River 6 miles Northwest of Hico, 15 miles South of Stephenville, and 16 miles East of Dublin. The town was founded during the 1880s when the Texas Central Railroad chose to build through the rural townsite. Clairette was named after a now defunct brand of soap that was popular at the time. At its peak, Clairette had a population of around 300 however, from the 1960s through the 2000's Clairette's population remained around 60. Clairette declined do to the construction of nearby US Highway 281 and the improvement of State Highway 6 which allowed for easier commuting to larger nearby areas. through the 2000's Clairette maintained a Community Center (formerly the Clairette School), and 2 churches.

Clairette is served by Hico Public Schools. As well as South Point Vol. Fire-Rescue & First Responders, Hico Vol. Fire Department, and Hamilton EMS-Hico for Emergencies.
