The City System set maps the city of Waterdeep in detail on 10 large color maps, with another map showing the city as a whole, and one more map that plots the interior of Castle Waterdeep.[1] There is also a booklet which includes keys to the maps, city encounter tables, information on typical non-player characters, and data on the city's legal code.[1]
Publication history
City System was written by Jeff Grubb with Ed Greenwood, with a cover by Larry Elmore and maps by Dennis Kauth and Frey Graphics, and was published by TSR in 1988 as a boxed set with a 32-page booklet and 12 large color maps.[1]
This product is intended as a companion product to Waterdeep and the North.[1]
Reception
Lawrence Schick, in his 1991 book Heroic Worlds, notes that the 10 city maps, when combined, "can cover an entire wall".[1]
