The Mrigal carp (Cirrhinus cirrhosus or Cirrhinus mrigala), also known as Indian Carp, is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Cirrhinus. Native to the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers of the Indian Subcontinent, it is extensively aquafarmed, with 463,520 t harvested in 2008.[1]
Aquaculture
It is an important aquacultured freshwater species in South Asia.[2]
