Chukwudi Chijindu (born February 20, 1986 in Upland, California) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Los Angeles Blues of the USL Professional Division, on loan from Chivas USA.

Career

Youth

A native of Fontana, California,[1] Chijindu attended Damien High School in La Verne, California, where he was his team's leading scorer in his junior and senior seasons, and was an All-America Top 100 pick. He played college soccer at the University of Connecticut, leading his team in scoring in his freshman year, and finishing his college career with 26 goals in 86 career matches.

Professional

After featuring occasionally for Chivas as a guest player in the MLS Reserve Division in 2008, Chijindu was signed to a developmental contract by Chivas USA on April 5, 2009 after training with the club throughout preseason.[2] He made his professional debut on 11 April 2009, in Chivas's game against Los Angeles Galaxy,[3] and scored his first professional goal on 18 April 2009 against Seattle Sounders FC.[4]

On August 6, 2010, Chivas USA sent Chijindu, along with teammate Gerson Mayen, on loan to USSF Division 2 Professional League side Miami FC [5]

On March 23, 2011 Chivas USA sent Chijindu on loan to USL Pro side Los Angeles Blues.[6]
