Chittumala is a busy road junction where the Kundara - Chittumala, Munroe Island - Chittumala and Chittumala - Bharanikkavu roads meet. It is also famous for the ancient Sri Durga Devi Temple. The name Chittumala means a place surrounded by hills. From Chittumala we can get a good view of the planes of Kallada and Chittumala Chira.
Location
It is situated about 23 KM from Kollam city, 9 KM from Kundara and 8 KM from Bharanikkavu. There are many private buses plying through these routes providing good connectivity.
