- Crime Prevention It provides a first choice community by educating citizens on how they may anticipate, recognize, and reduce crime.
- Project Lifesaver Project Lifesaver helps provide rapid response to save lives and reduce potential for serious injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer’s, Autism, Down Syndrome, dementia and other related disorders.
- Success Through Education and Proactive Policing It is an educational program for Chesterfield County elementary schools, that teaches respect, stranger awareness, safety at home, peer pressure, decision making, school bus, pedestrian, seat belt and bike safety lessons, crime prevention and numerous drug and alcohol awareness classes.
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) An environmental design strategy that incorporates crime prevention techniques.[1]
Department Services
- Citizens Academy The Citizens Academy teaches you about the CCPD including presentations, question and answer sessions, tours, a variety of practical exercises, observe communication officers handling 911 calls in the Emergency Communications Center, students watch K-9 officers search for drugs, operate police RADAR and learn about specialized units including the motorcycle patrols and the Emergency Response Team.
- Community Policing They participate in most neighborhood and business-related events to build trust in the communities.[2]
- Law Enforcement Explorer Post 609 Law Enforcement Explorer Post 609 is a Volunteer program for young people between the ages of 14 and completed the 8th grade through 21. The program allows the Explorers to learn all about the law enforcement profession. Police Officer "ride a longs", explorer competitions, non-enforcement related work, and community events are some of the details the explorers get to be involved with. These events are exciting, fun and rewarding for the explorers.
