Cherumony Damodaran Nair

Cherumony Damodaran Nair (born on 6-3-1910  :died on 22-12-1983) a.k.a C.D.Nair was a freedom fighter. He joined the Indian National Army when it was formed. He served in the Present Propaganda Department under M Shivaram who was the spokesman of the Azad Hind Govt which was presided over by Netaji. Later he was appointed leader of the Field Propaganda Unit. He was arrested and detained when the British reoccupied Singapore on October 1945. He was released on January 1946 and was again arrested on the same day and released on 24 February 1946. He accompanied Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru when he visited British Malaya on March 1946. Later he was awarded the 'Thamrapatra' by the Central Govt.
