Chernozemelsky District (Russian: Черноземе́льский райо́н) is an administrative and a municipal district (raion), one of the thirteen in the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia.The area of the district is 14,191.68 square kilometers (5,479.44 sq mi).^[1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Komsomolsky.^[1] District's population: 13,258 (2010 Census preliminary results);^[2] 12,990 (2002 Census);^[6] 16,840 (1989 Census).^[7] Population of Komsomolsky accounts for 30.7% of the district's population.^[6]
