Cheerleading in the United Kingdom is growing; there are several organisations, some of which are backed by British Gymnastics, that host competitions throughout the year. Some schools offer cheerleading as a sports option.
Cheerleading is conducted through allstar, university and school teams. Many of these teams compete against other cheerleading teams at Regional and National levels. Some UK schools offer cheerleading classes as an alternative option in PE classes and as after-school clubs. There is also a Aviator Allstars Cheerleading program in Gastonia NC. There also squads attached to some soccer and Rugby League teams.
The UK Cheerleading community is growing extremely fast and is often subject to intense rivalry between high profile teams as noted on the UK's most popular forum, UK Cheerleading Forum.
