Slammy Awards

Slammy Awards

The Slammy Awards was a concept used by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) (now called World Wrestling Entertainment) (WWE), where awards, similar to the Academy and Grammy Awards, were given to professional wrestlers.cite web|url=http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/whatsaslammy|accessdate=2008-02-22|title=What's A Slammy?|publisher=World Wrestling Entertainment] Their have been four editions of the concept, the first edition aired in 1986, with another airing in 1987, and after a brief hiatus, the concept resumed in 1996 and 1997. The concept yet again endured another hiatus, until a special review edition aired in 2008.
