Sam Fatu (born October 11 1965) is a professional wrestler best known under the name of The Tonga Kid.

Professional wrestling career

He got into the wrestling business around 1984. He formed The Islanders with Haku. He then entered into a feud with Roddy Piper.

During his career, he was the youngest guy ever to headline at Madison Square Garden.cite web|url=http://www.rfvideo.com/browseproducts/Shoot-with-Tonga-Kid.html|title=Shoot with Tonga Kid|publisher=RF Video|accessdate=2008-08-30] He remained active until 1992. Sam Fatu went on to work with Solofa Fatu in his promotion Nu-Wrestling Evolution.

Sam Fatu starred as "Tonga Tom" in the 1987 movie "Body Slam", along with Dirk Benedict and Roddy Piper. In 2007, Sam once again wrestled as "The Tonga Kid", appearing in the Portland, Oregon region and working with CPW Wrestling and feuding with local talent Tom E. Celcious.

Personal life

When he was younger he dreamed of being a baseball player, but around the age of 15 he changed his mind as he watched relatives and friends who were involved in professional wrestling. He started working at a local zoo to help him become better at speaking English.

His brothers are Eddie "Umaga" Fatu and Solofa "Rikishi" Fatu.

After leaving the wrestling business, he opened up a bar in West Philadelphia.
