It is named after Mr.Charles Rouse a former principal at Leander High School. When the school first opened in 2008, it had only a freshman class (9th grade), however, in by its fourth year, the school was opened to seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshman.

Sports
The Rouse football program started in 2008 with two teams, Freshman A team (Maroon) and Freshman B team (Gold). Both teams played their first official game on August 28, 2008 and both teams held their first home game on September 11, 2008.
Raider Rumbler
The Raider Rumbler is an online newspaper written by students about current events and school sports and spirit activities.
Raider Band
The Raider Band was a rising program in the school. The first year alone, the band placed second at the USSBA state competition. As of 2011-2012 the Raider Band is a 4A school. The 2010-2011 Moto is "The band marches on" - Show name: Starry Night. The 2011-2012 Moto is "Every player every note" - Show Name: Flurry.
