Leander High School is a
secondary school inLeander, Texas and part of theLeander Independent School District . It was established in1984 .The school has a freshmen enrollment of 700 students and is accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Historically the school served a mainly rural population, but starting around the early 1990s the area experienced explosive growth due to expansion of high tech industries in the nearby Austin areaFact|date=August 2007. As of 2007, the
school principal is Mr. Brad Mansfield.The school's
mascot s are Leo the Lion and Leah the Lioness. Theschool colors are blue, white, and red. Originally, the school's colors were simply blue and red, but this posed issues with home/visiting football games, where the opposing team would wear red as well as Leander. Because of this, Leander switched to simply Blue and White. The red was reintroduced in the late 90s as an accent color. Leander High is also recognized for its productions by their Blue Belles and Theatre Department.External links
