Charles R. Ott, Jr. is an American architectural illustrator from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the creator of Steel City Artist Illustrations.
Charles Ott was born in Frankfurt, Germany on January 24, 1973. The artist has earned a reputation for his very detailed hand-drawn pen & ink illustrations depicting notable buildings and landmarks. Charles is a self-taught realist artist and began drawing around the age of seven years-old upon being inspired by that of another well-known illustrator from Pittsburgh named Nevin Robinson. The illustrator's artwork is displayed internationally in art galleries, businesses, colleges, restaurants and private collections from as far away as Dubai, U.A.E. and even the White House. The artist has contributed his artwork to charitable events throughout Pittsburgh including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation and WTAE-TV Project Bundle-Up. The artist co-created his own charity foundation with a group of Pittsburgh artists. The group known as the Humanitarian Artists of Pittsburgh has auctioned off their original artwork for charitable foundations throughout the Pittsburgh region.
