(Stoll, [1781])The Forest King Emperor or Forest King Charaxes (Charaxes xiphares) is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae. It is found southern Africa.[1]
The wingspan is 65–80 mm in males and 70–95 mm in females.[2]
The larvae feed on Craibia brevecaudata, Scutia myrtina, Rhamnus prinoides, Cryptocarya woodii, Cryptocarya woodii, Scutia myrtina, Chaetachme aristata, and Drypetes gerrardii.[2][1]
