Chandivali is a suburb of Mumbai situated between Saki Naka and powai. Chandivali is surrounded by nature and mountains, with no pollution or traffic jams. Chandivali is among those suburbs which is progressed and developed a lot in small span of time. Chandivali was a village prior to development and hardly any one knows.^[1]

After offices and builders started to come this place, it became very famous and high profile area.^[2]

Chandivali got this fame because of nearby Powai area which is very popular for high class locality and growing offices in area. Chandivali also has a small but very famous Chandivali studio ^[3] it is also known as Chandivali outdoor location. which is on Chandivali farm road. Chandivali Outdoor Location better known as Chandivali Studio was founded by Mr. Chandrarao Ganpatrao Kadam in the early forties at the Andheri east suburb of Mumbai. Chandrarao Kadam was a silent actor,producer and director of silent and talking pictures in the early thirties. He has shared the screen space with noted artists of the thirties which are Lalita Pawar, Bhagwan Dada, Hansa Wadkar as his coartists. He was directed by eminent directors of those times like G.P.Pawar, Moti Gidwani, Dhirubhai Desai, S.M.Yusuf, Nanabhai Bhatt, Jayant Desai and Behran Vasania. While he pursued his passion for acting and directing films he nurtured an idea to build a studio.Following suite he purchased land at Chandivali.It took him a long time to develop various locations and convert it to a full fledged studio for shooting his own films and letting out the studio to other producers. He succeeded in making the studio a famous outdoor Location which is why the studio is known as Chandivali Outdoor Location. The Studio composes of various indoor and outdoor Locations like the Den,Garden,Village,Temple,Pond side ,Roadside Areas Godown,Indoor House and Bedroom sets etc. Since then it has been a long journey for the studio.It has witnessed the success of the greatest stalwarts of the Indian and foreign film and television industries in various categories be it Actors,Directors,producers and Technicians. Chandivali studio shares a goodwill in the Indian film and Telivision industry as most films and t.v serials shot here are super successful. It also is a nostalgic place as most Actors and Technicians have started their career from the same studio. It has been a lucky location for most Artists and Directors and one of them being Mr Amitabh Bachan.He started his career at the studio with Saat Hindustani only to become a living legend of the Hindi Film Industry. He has shot at Chandivali Studio for Coolie,Deewar Nasseb and Khuddar etc which have been super hits. This studio continues to be a great place to shoot for the Hindi film and television Industry. The studio has completed 67 long years in the Indian film and T.V Industry and still stands strong. Chandivali is attracting companies to build office in the area thus new offices are opening. ^[4] Chandivali is among those suburbs where Flats rate are very high. New and famous builders are coming in this area and making residential complexes like famous Raheja Builders, 'Nahars group, and many others.

^[5] Chandivali MHADA colony which is a government built residential area. Mhada colony gets all credit to give path to development of area. The MHADA colony was built in 1992 and thereafter the progress of the area started. There is an old Mannubhai chawl situated on Chandivali farm road.

Oberoi Garden is an office building complex situated there. Various companies offices are in this building. ICICI Bank situated in Chandivali is a famous landmark. ^[6] Lok Milan is also in Chandivali.

A popular local weekly community newspaper Planet Powai regularly reports about news, events and shopping information about this area. Chandivali is also home to boomerang an industrial park which is situated in 0.5 km area and longest commercial complex in city.

'Oritel Service Apartments hotel' which is famous for its natural location, is situated in Chandivali which is half km from the Mumbai international Airport ^{[7] [8]}
