Chakrian is a village with a population of around 10,000 in union council Langay, (near Mangowall) in Gujrat District, Pakistan. Chakrian is situated 23 kilometers away from Gujrat towards the West. Historically, this village was named after Sardar Chakar Singhan, an influential Sikh Sardar. The Sufi saint Shah Sharif came to the village in the 17th century and converted all the villagers to Islam.

Clans
Most of the people belong to Warraich Clan, a warrior ethnic clan of the Jatt people of India and Pakistan who are descendants of Indo-Scythian tribes. According to Sir Lepal Griffin, the tribe migrated to the Punjab during the reign of Mohammad Ghazni and settled in Gujrat, in present day Pakistan.
Some people belong to Kharal, Cheema, Sahi and Chatta Clan.
Sports
Sports like FOOTBALL, CRICKET, KABADDI are also played in chakrian. These teams have won many tournanments at domestic level. Muhammad Asad Hayat is Chakrian,s FOOTBALL TEAM Captain.
Religion
About >99% people of Chakrian are Muslim, about <1% are Ahmadi Muslims. Muslims mosques are in the village and also the Gurdwara is present in the Village. There is a complete understanding between the Sikhs and Muslims.
Education
Schools include the Government High School for Boys, the Government Girls High School, and Rizwan Public School a private school following the Oxford Syllabus.
Governance
In National Assembly the village is represented as of 2010 by the Pakistan Peoples Party of whom the member of parliament is Ahmad Mukhtar, the Defence Minister of Pakistan who won the election from NA 105 by defeating Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. In Punjab Assembly village is represented by Moonis Elahi, belongs to PML Q, who won the 2010 election from PP 110 by defeating Nasir Samaan.
Former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Former Chief Minister Of Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Former Law Minister Of Punjab Bashart Malik also won previous election in this village. It also remain in the consistency of Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Shaheed.
Current Deputy Mayor of Union Council Langay belongs to Chakrian.
