As Safirah District

As Safirah (Arabic: السفيرة‎ As Safīra) is a Syrian district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Aleppo Governorate. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 178,293. Its administrative centre is the city of As Safirah.

The main townships and villages are Khanaser, Tal 3aran, Tal 7assel. The main economic activity is agriculture. Since ancient times, As Safirah was a fertile area where cereals and other crops were harvested.
