Description
All of its schools use English as the medium of instruction and follow the national Indian Certificate of Secondary Education or ICSE board. There are four Arya Vidya Mandir schools in Mumbai. There is one school each in Bandra West, Santacruz West, Juhu, and Bandra East. All AVM schools are co-educational. The Arya Vidya Mandir group of schools are affiliated with the Hindu faith.
There are about forty children in each class. The timings for this school are 8:30am–11:30am for the pre-primary sections, 8:30am–2:30pm for the primary sections & 8:30am–3:30pm for the secondary sections.
For the children studying in the Bandra West school, they go to the Santacruz West branch till the second standard (second grade) and then go to the Bandra West branch from the third standard (third grade) onwards. The primary objective of this group of schools is to help the children develop spiritually, metally, emotionally and physically. The students receive education under the guidance of trained and competent teachers. The schools are cosmopolitan in nature and are non-profit making organisations. The languages taught are English, Hindi and Sanskrit. Sanskrit is a compulsory language taught from Standard 5 to 8. Co-curricular activities are a special feature in the school programme. These include Art, Physical Education and Swimming, among others. Although the medium of instruction is English, Indian culture and values are emphasized.Hindi, Sanskrit and Marathi Diwas (Days) are celebrated with great enthusiasm. The children put up a variety of performances on the basis of a prescribed syllabus.
