Katheryn Russell-Brown (born Katheryn K. Russell,
September 17 ,1961 ) is an associate professor ofcriminology andcriminal justice at theUniversity of Maryland, College Park . She has a Ph.D. from the criminology department of the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a member of theAcademy of Criminal Justice Sciences ,American Bar Association , and theAmerican Society of Criminology .Russell was cited by the
Supreme Court of the United States inHarris v. Alabama (1995 ) in regard to her1994 article, "The Constitutionality of Jury Override in Alabama Death Penalty Cases ".Russell has taught at the
