The Sarantaporos river begins in the
Kamvounia mountains and the Vigla mountaintop around theThessaly -Macedonia orWest Macedonia regional or the Kozani-Larissa prefectural boundary. The river flows near the small place known as Vigla and into in a barren area and into a forested area for the next 10 km and passes east ofSarantaporo in which the river receives its name to the village. It forms its first tributary northeast of Milia and the GR-3/E65 (Larissa - Kozani - Niki) and its last with the Potamia.Places
