Excelsior Primary school is one of the most prestigious primary education institution in Jamaica. It was founded by Mr.Wesley Astuin Powell when he was denied accptance in a traditional high school Calabar High and was fed up and decided to establish a school where the too old, poor, young, old or rich could atend.Up to this day Excelsior Primay is still a prestigious educational institution and now has Excelsior High School,Excelsior Pre Primary and Excelsior Community College which are collectively called The Excelsior Education Unit.The principal of Excelsior Primary was formerly Claudette Cope but since 2007 Linda Campbell has been running Excelsior Primary.Claudette Cope now principal's Excelsior Pre-Primary.
