Episcopal Diocese of Alabama

The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama [ [http://www.dioala.org Diocese of Alabama Website] ] is the diocese of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America including most of the State of Alabama with the exception of the extreme southern region, including Mobile, which forms part of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast.

Currently, the Right Reverend Henry N. Parsley serves as diocesan bishop. The Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham serves as its cathedral. The Bishops' Offices are located at Carpenter House in Birmingham alongside the Cathedral.

The diocese currently includes about 91 parishes including college campus ministries and Camp McDowell, the diocesan camp, located in Nauvoo, Alabama, along Clear Creek.

On 30 September 2007, the Rev. John McKee "Kee" Sloan was elected as bishop suffragan, succeeding Marc Handley Andrus, who had become bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of California.
