The comic series was first published in South Africa in 2000. Afterwards publication spread to various sub-saharan African countries. Main characters

*Shakes is the star striker of the Supa Strikas team. His father also played for the Supa Strikas; therefore Shakes has to match his father's legacy
*Shark is a defender for Supa Strikas. Sometimes shown as a white man, in natural appearance, he is often illustrated as a native African in some African countries.
