Monacha cartusiana is a species of small air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Hygromiidae, the hairy snails and their allies.
This is the type species of the genus Monacha.
Distribution
Distribution of this species is Atlantic-Mediterranean.[3] It lives in areas including:
- Great Britain. This species was fully protected in the United Kingdom under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 from 1981 to 1988.[4]
Life cycle
The size of the egg is 1.8 mm.[5]
