frozen = The Head Lake in the Kawartha Lakes region is located between Uphill (to the west) and Norland (to the east) along Kawartha road 45 (formerly highway 503). The community of Head Lake is located on this lake. This is an excellent lake to fish for bass and pickerel (sometimes called walleye). The lake is about 3 miles (5 km) wide and 5 miles (8 km) long. It is drained by the Head River which flows into the Black River, which becomes the Severn River, below the outlet of Lake Couchiching.
The Head Lake in Haliburton County is located in the village of Haliburton. The lake is fed by Drag River which flows south from Drag Lake.
