Chalaaboun

Chalaaboun = Schaalabbin in Hebrew שעלבים or שעלבין , in Arabic شلعبون is a place in south Lebanon near Ain Ebel.

Chalaaboun was in the Tribe of Dan region. Tribe of Dan is one of Tribes of Israel. It is mentioned in the Old Testament under the name "Schaalabbin"

Ernest Renan visited Chalaaboun during his mission to Lebanon and described what he found in his book Mission de Phénicie (1865-1874)

He found a tomb similar to that of Christ and many other things.

Near Chalaaboun is Dueir 1 km to the south west.
