Career
Her career began at 8 months old when she booked her first professional job, a Braun ThermoScan Ear Thermometer commercial. Although she has never stopped acting for fun, she did not continue to pursue acting as a profession until the age of 9 when she got an agent and started going out on auditions and consistently receiving call-backs. Her first film role was the part of Kim Baker in the box-office hit Cheaper by the Dozen and then headed to Toronto the following summer to film "The Pacifier" in the role of LuLu Plummer. The next summer, Morgan headed back to Toronto to film Cheaper by the Dozen 2.
Personal life
York was born in Burbank, California. She lived in Studio City until her family moved to New York City in November of 1997. They lived in NYC until the end of the year 2000. While they were living there, Morgan studied acting and spent several Saturday afternoons at Broadway matinees. Morgan is the oldest of three. She has a younger brother and sister. York attended Los Angeles' renowned Millikan Middle School Performing Arts Magnet where she was a part of the musical theater program. She later attended CHAMPS Charter High School in Van Nuys, CA. She is, in addition to being an actress, an avid writer. She is currently working on a four part series, the first book of which she has completed and is working on getting published. She is presently writing the second part of the series. Aside from her passion, she loves reading (her favorite authors include Stephen King, Mark Twain, Charlotte Bronte, Jane Austen, and JK Rowling) and is a huge Harry Potter fan. Playing video games is also a past time of hers. Her video gaming passions include the Pokémon games, which she has played loyally since the age of six, and the Kingdom Hearts franchise. She would not say that she is an anime fan, but proclaims herself to be a wild fan of Death Note. She can often be seen with her iPod in hand, since she has an obsession with listening to music. However, creating music is a different story for her, since, while she has a decent singing voice, she cannot write songs/create original melodies. Listening to music, though, has a huge, positive impact on her writing. Her favorite bands are Paramore and The Beatles. York is close friends with Cheaper by the Dozen co-star Liliana Mumy.
York graduated from CHAMPS Charter High School in Van Nuys, California, in 2011 and is currently a freshman at the University of Redlands.
