Dell Ubuntu Netbook Remix is Dell's distribution of Ubuntu Netbook Remix (based on version 8.04) built specifically for the hardware profile of the Inspiron Mini 9, and is available also for the Inspiron Mini 12. It includes a custom built interface and launcher as well as non-free codecs such as MPEG4 and MP3. Dell has sold computers with Ubuntu pre-installed before, however this is the first time an Ubuntu computer has been prominently featured side-by-side with a Windows operating system. After weeks of delay, it finally began shipping on September 22, 2008.[1]
