Currambine Train Station is a Transperth train station 29.2km from Perth Train Station, in Western Australia. It is on the "Joondalup Line".
History
Originally built in 1993 as an extension to the Joondalup Line, it was designed as both a passenger station and a cleaning depot. The cleaning depot also enabled the storage of up to six two carriage trains (three per track), which negated the transfer of rollingstock from the Claisebrook railway depot to enable a quicker commencement of each day's services.
In 2004, the original station was found to be in the way of the gazetted Mitchell Freeway reserve, so the station was demolished and rebuilt 60 metres east of the original site as part of enabling works for the future extension of the line to Clarkson, and connection with a new rail depot in Nowergup, Western Australia designed for the storage and maintenance of newer B-series rolling-stock.
