Born in
Culiacán and raised inGuamúchil , Sinaloa from the age of ten, Perla Beltrán never expected to participate in a beauty pageant, despite her admiration for beauty queens since her childhood. In 2001, her mother led her to compete in a local pageant for the first time and won, also making it her first pageant title. In 2007, Beltrán competed in Miss Earth Mexico and obtained second place. A year later, at the age of twenty-one, she participated in the national beauty pageantNuestra Belleza Mexico 2008 , where she obtained second place among thirty-two other contestants and the right to compete in the 59th internationalMiss World pageant.ee also
