Go, Ed. D.[2] It was founded in 1993 and currently operates with an approximately 13 nationalities of students.[3]

History
Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) is the first international school in Xiamen, China. It was conceptualized by the Manila Xiamen Educational Foundation as a nonprofit, non-stock, fully foreign-owned and independent school guided by a global philosophy of education with the following objectives:
- To nurture students to be truly educated individuals with a strong academic foundation, leadership skills, desirable attitudes and values and with a fluency in at least two international languages that will enable them to enter schools either in the eastern or western settings.
- To promote international understanding by sponsoring study-tour programs to students and professionals in order for them to gain a deeper appreciation of China and its people.
- To support the universal aspiration of families and their dependents to acquire quality education at a minimal cost.
Manila Xiamen International School started its operation in 1993 with a permit from the Ministry of Education of China and from the Philippine Department of Education. It is a co-educational day and boarding school with excellent curricular offerings at pre-school, lower school, middle school, and upper school levels. English is the medium of instruction. Non-English speaking students are supported with special English as a Second Language (ESL) program, while Mandarin is taught at every grade and level by Chinese teachers. MXIS has gained acceptance to the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) of world schools, accredited to offer the rigorous two-year Diploma Programme for Grades 11 and 12. DP graduates are qualified to enter the best colleges and universities all over the world.
Internationalism permeates the entire school curriculum, which is implemented by a multi-ethnic and highly competent faculty. The school’s student population comprises over 20 nationalities. Since its inception in 1993, MXIS has graduated over a hundred students; ninety percent of them have enrolled in a 4- to 5-year university courses in different countries.
The school calendar opens during the second week of August and ends second week of June, however, enrolment is accepted anytime during the school year.
Facilities and Location
The school is in a 6500m2 and has two main buildings with 34 rooms in each building.

Philosophy, Goals and Objectives
Manila Xiamen International School adheres to the global philosophy of education. Our goal is to prepare students to become active members of the world community. This means that while we inculcate the teaching of cultures and histories in order to promote an international outlook among our students, we consciously implement the development of numeracy, literacy, and yes, values formation, as well as the enhancement of creativity and physical fitness.[4]
Curriculum
Manila Xiamen International School's curriculum combines features from the Eastern and the Western models. It uses two (2) international languages: English as medium of instruction and Mandarin as a second language.
The school employs foreign as well as local teachers. The school uses textbooks and main references from respectable world publishers.
The school limits the number of students to 15 per class to maintain supervision onto students. ESL classes are provided for Non-English speaking students.
The House System
Students participate in the House System where the whole school population is divided into two teams called the Tiger House and the Dragon House. The two teams compete in sports, quiz bees, talent shows, etc.
Summer Programs
Manila Xiamen International School provides Summer Programs where participants are given better understanding and appreciation of China, its history, people, culture and geography. A yearly 45-day summer program from early April and mid-May is sponsored for overseas students. There are two optional types of the Summer Program:
- For those who would want to stay in Xiamen during the duration of the program;
- For those who would want to go for a 5-day trip to Beijing a week before the program ends.[5]

The said school is St. Gabriel International School (Simplified Chinese:圣加百利国际学校; Traditional Chinese:聖加百利國際學校 Pinyin: shèng jiā bǎi lì guó jì xué xiào), a school also owned by Dr. Mildred A. Go, Ed. D. located in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines. St. Gabriel International School uses a patterned curriculum and participates in the Summer Program of Manila Xiamen International School.
