Roni Bowers

Roni Bowers (died April 20, 2001) was a Christian missionary. The pilot, Kevin Donaldson, was shot in the leg but managed to land the plane. Roni's husband, Jim, and her six year old son Cody were not injured. After the event, the US government temporarily suspended the practice of shooting down planes over Peru and Columbia. The US Government then settled with the Bowers family for 8 million dollars, before resuming the practice of shooting down suspicious planes.
