The first Season of Big Brother Isreal (Ha'Ach Ha'Gadol) was launched Monday 1st September, 2008, with sixteen Housemates entering upon launch. The Housemates include a set on non-identical twin brothers and a father and daughter.

Housemates

Asher Simoni (אשר סימוני)

A twenty-nine years old man from Tiberias. Works at the post office as a clerk. Asher was mainly known for his strong religious views and his obsessive smoking.

Boris Shnaiderovsky (בוריס שניידרובסקי)

A twenty-two year old man from Raanana. His non-identical twin brother Leon (לאון שניידרובסקי) is also in the House.

Einav Bublil (עינב בובליל)

A twenty-three year old woman from Ashkelon. Her father Yossi (יוסי בובליל) entered the House as the sixteenth Housemate, to Einav's surprise.

Eran Zilberman (ערן זילברמן)

A twenty-six year old man from Tel Aviv. He describes himself as very homophobic and racist, but thinks girls will fall in love with him.

Itay Ziv (איתי זיו)

A twenty-eight year old man from Tel Aviv.

Jenny Tukrev (ג'ני טוקרב)

A twenty-three year-old woman from Tel Aviv.

Keren Khassis (קרן חסיס)

A twenty-four year old woman from Tel Aviv and Herzliya.

Leon Shnaiderovsky (לאון שניידרובסקי)

A twenty-two year old gay man from Raanana. His non-identical twin brother Boris (בוריס שניידרובסקי) is also in the House. Leon works at a clothing store as a sells man and is known in the house for his gentle character and friendship with housemate Eynav. He had a crush on fellow-housemate Ztabar early in the competition.

Miki Levin (מיקי לוין)

A thirty-one years old woman from Ramat HaSharon. She came to the house as the mean blonde woman, but after fighting with other housemates she was evicted.

Naama Fridman (נעמה פרידמן)

A thirty-four years old writer from Liman. Her main goal in coming to the show was to promote her first book "Like There Is No Tomorrow". Naama was initially liked by other housemates, as they saw her as the caring mother housemate. But soon enough they discovered she is trying to manipulate people and pick fights. The housemates tried to vote her off but the audience brought her back twice. After failing to vote her off, she was shunned by the other housemates until she decided to leave the show from her own free will.

Ranin Boulos (רנין בולוס)

A twenty-three years old woman from Neve Shalom. In the series she was chosen to represent the Israeli Arab demographic. Early on she made an impression that she is very emotional, and has threatened to leave the show a few times after having fights with other housemates.

A twenty-five year old man from Tel Aviv.

hifra Cornfeld (שפרה קורנפלד)

A twenty-seven year old woman from Jerusalem.

Tsabar Gadish (צבר גדיש)

A twenty-seven year old man from Binyamina.

Venessa Alush (ונסה אלוש)

A twenty-seven year old French woman from Bitan Aharon.

Yossi Bublil (יוסי בובליל)

A fifty-four year old man from Ashkelon. His daughter, Einav (עינב בובליל) is also in the House.

Nominations Table

Notes:
fnb|1 On Day 2 Boris, Miki and Yossi were nominated and the public were given ten minutes to vote. However, a producer error meant that only Boris and Yossi faced the public vote after Miki's nominations were miscalculated. Out of Boris and Yossi, Boris was evicted and interviewed by the show's hosts. After the error was noticed he was put back into the House. The nominations were re-held on Day 7.
fnb|2 All Housemates were automatically nominated for a special Eviction on Day 28.
fnb|3 Originally Einav and Asher wasn't nominated for eviction, but they tried to deceive the Big Brother and send Tzabar and Shifra for nomination. The Big Brother exposed the fraud and replaced Tzabar and Shifra with Asher and Einav.
