On September 9, 2008, Taguig City Mayor Sigfrido Tiñga officially announced and claimed that Fort Bonifacio and the City will be the site of the Philippines' tallest building (in the List of tallest buildings and structures in the world by country). The first 25 floors of the skyscraper will be occupied by the Grand Hyatt Hotel (500 to 600 rooms), while the rest, by residential and commercial units.
