Saint John and the Revelations is a Canadian folk-rock band led by vocalist/guitarist Saint John. Saint John was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The band was formed in 2006. They now reside in Venice, California.

They have released two albums: 'Halo', and 'Mercy'.

Early Career

Saint John learned to play guitar in high school after spending most of his life wanting to learn to play piano. Early influences included The Beatles and many American Blues artists such as Buddy Guy, Magic Sam, Albert King, and Muddy Waters.

Saint John began his music career by busking in the streets of Europe. He enjoyed the freedom of hitchhiking from country to country at a whim, and having an immediate connection with the audience. After a few days in a town his audience would grow and he would then move on, feeling he had somewhat "conquered" that town.

He also played in various local bands, especially gravitating to blues bands as a lead guitarist.

Independent Success

The band has completely bypassed most traditional music outlets and distribution. They instead have relied on a growing number of fans spreading the word online about their music. They also record and produce all of their own music their own studio in Venice, California. Saint John regularly gives away songs for free and communicates directly with his fans online. Independent sales of their first EP 'Halo' enabled them to take some time to record a full-length album. They completed their first full-length album, 'Mercy', in summer of 2008.
