Sport Clube Alba (aka Alba) is a Portuguese club, located in Albergaria-a-Velha, district of Aveiro.

History

Sport Clube Alba is a Portuguese club founded in January, 1st of 1941.

The club was the winner of the AFA Secundary Championship (football) in 1961/62, going up to the Distrital 1st Division. In the season 1964/5 competed in the fourth serie of the 3rd Division, championship that was won by Águeda. In 1968/69 won the distrital championship of the 1st division of Aveiro.

In the 70s competed 5 times (1971/72, 1974/75,1975/76, 1976/77 e 1978/79) in the old portuguese 2nd Division.

The Estádio Municipal António Martins Pereira, in Albergaria-a-Velha, subsistuted the old Parque Alba that was demolished.

*João Alves (aka "luvas pretas"), was born in Albergaria-a-Velha, in December 5th of 1952 and he was one of the most famous football players of his generation. He was also one of the presidents of the club during the 90s.
