The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship of 1912 was the 26th edition of Ireland’s premier hurling knockout competition. The championship ran throughout the whole of 1912, culminating with the All-Ireland final, held at Jones’s Road, Dublin on 17 November. The match was contested by Kilkenny, represented by Tullaroan, and Cork, represented by Blackrock, with Kilkenny taking the title by 2-1 to 1-3. It was Kilkenny’s second All-Ireland title in-a-row.

Format

The All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was run on a provincial basis as usual. All games were played on a knockout basis whereby once a team lost they were eliminated from the championship. The format for the All-Ireland series of games ran as follows:
* The representatives from the Munster Championship advanced directly to the first All-Ireland semi-final.
* The winners of the Ulster Championship advanced directly to the first All-Ireland semi-final where they played the Munster representatives.
* The winners of the Leinster Championship advanced directly to the second All-Ireland semi-final.
* The winners of the Connacht Championship advanced directly to the second All-Ireland semi-final where they played the Leinster champions.

All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship

The All-Ireland series of games were severely hampered due a delay in playing the provincial championships in Munster. Because of this Limerick were nominated by the Munster Council to represent the province in the All-Ireland semi-final. Limerick, however, were later defeated by Cork in the Munster semi-final on 1 September. Cork later defeated Tipperary in the Munster final on 27 October to book their place in the All-Ireland final.
