Roger Drake was an administrator of the English East India Company. He served as President of Bengal in the mid-eighteenth century. [ [http://www.worldstatesmen.org/India_BrProvinces.htm Provinces of British India - World Statesmen] ] He was succeeded by Robert Clive who was to transform the fortunes of the company after the Battle of Plassey and firmly establish Company rule in India.
