Mike Rimmer

Mike Rimmer

Mike Rimmer is a British music journalist and radio presenter. He currently presents radio shows for BBC West Midlands in Birmingham and Cross Rhythms City Radio in Stoke-on-Trent, as well as being a major contributor to the Cross Rhythms website.

Early life

Rimmer grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne, and attended Leeds University where he studied English and theology. Broadcasting

Rimmer presents "Rimmerama" on Cross Rhythms City Radio from 6pm to 9pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week, and the early Sunday show on BBC West Midlands. He also works on a freelance basis for other community, RSL and local stations.

Rimmer has twice won awards from the Christian Broadcasting Council Conference [ [http://www.christianbroadcastingcouncil.co.uk/1kit/conference/tabid/2912/Default.aspx http://www.christianbroadcastingcouncil.co.uk/1kit/conference/tabid/2912/Default.aspx] ] ; a Gold Award for The Cross Rhythms Ben Nevis Challenge Radio Show (jointly with Jon Bellamy) and Silver for the Day One Radio Christian Album Chart.

Personal life

Rimmer is married to Pippa, and lives in Birmingham. They have no children. Rimmer is a member of Church Alive in Birmingham, where he is part of the pastoral team.
