An AICTE approved institution , it is established on the lines of IIMs.[2] The institute is expected to contribute substantially to the academic and developmental credentials of the state of Bihar. It is a dream project of the Government of Bihar to "Re-deem the past glory of Bihar ". It deserves the status of an IIM", says Dr.S.C.Jha - The Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of India.
Campus
The institute is currently functioning from its campus at Chajjubagh (Phaneeshwar Nath Renu Hindi Bhawan), Patna, which is nearly 1 km from Patna railway station and 2.5 km from Patna airport. All modern facilities are available within the campus. There is a huge library which contains around 7500 volumes of books, 100 print journals, 2000 full text journals and online access to various databases. It also has separate hostels for boys and girls.
CIMP proposes to start functioning from its new campus in next 2 years. The Government of Bihar has allotted 20 acres (81,000 m2) of land for building a state-of-the-art campus in Mithapur, which is 4 km away from Patna airport and 1.5 km away from Patna railway station.

Selection Process
Applicants selected on the basis of CAT/GMAT scores are called to appear for Group Discussions, Psychometric Test and Personal Interviews. Upon aggregating their performance on these three grounds, merit list is prepared and students are selected.
