Farm to Market Road 51 or FM 51 is a Texas state road that runs from Gainesville south and west to an intersection with US 67 in Somervell County. The route was designated in 1942 as several disjunct pieces of road in Parker, Wise, and Cooke counties, but by 1949 it had become a contiguous route stretching from Gainesville to Granbury in Hood County. It did not reach its final form, extending into Somervell County, until 1985.

Skirting the western fringes of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, it is used as a more scenic and less-congested alternative route to I-35 W. It is also available as a shortcut for travelers going from eastbound I-20 to northbound I-35 who wish to avoid traffic on Loop 820 and I-35 W.
