Bob Crowley (born in Cork,
Ireland ) is a theatre director, scenic and costume designer. He is the brother of director John Crowley. He has been nominated for theTony Award ten times, winning five for designing the Broadway productions of "Aida" (2000), "Carousel" (1994), "The History Boys " (2006), "Mary Poppins " (2007) and "Coast of Utopia " (2007). He is a frequent collaborator ofNicholas Hytner 's and besides Broadway has worked extensively at theRoyal National Theatre and theRoyal Shakespeare Company in London.Most recently, Bob Crowley designed set and costume for Mary Poppins, currently playing in the West End and then opened on Broadway in November 2006. He also designed and directed the Phil Collins/Disney musical, Tarzan, which closed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway on July 8 2007 after a run of 487 performances.
