- Parkwood (Decatur)
Parkwood is a small neighborhood in the west section of the
Atlanta, Georgia suburb of Decatur and unincorporated DeKalb County. It primarily includes single family residences constructed in the 20th Century. The neighborhood is located between the Adair Park community and Melrose Ave. to the east; East Lake Rd. to the south; Ponce de Leon Ave. to the north; and theCSX railroad tracks to the west Although the neighborhood partially fronts on Ponce de Leon Avenue and East Lake Rd., there are no commercial businesses other than the East Lake MARTA station.Streets in the community include West Parkwood Rd., East Parkwood Rd., Parkwood Ln., Wimberly Ct. and Upland Rd. The streets are notable for their curvilinear and looped shapes. North Parkwood Rd., located north of Ponce de Leon Avenue, is considered part of the Chelsea Heights neighborhood.

* Greenspace, West Parkwood Rd. & East Parkwood Rd. The Parkwood subdivision does not have a city park, but it does have a heavily wooded greenspace located between it's two primary entry roads.
* Deepdene Park, Ponce de Leon Ave. This park is located in Druid Hills, but begins immediately west of Parkwood (across the CSX railroad tracks).Transportation
* East Lake MARTA rail station, is located at Howard Avenue and East Lake Drive..
* East Lake Rd., is located south of the neighborhood.
* Ponce de Leon Avenue, is located north of the neighborhood and is the main entrance into the neighborhood.References
