"Tusker" is an upcoming computer-animated project from
Imagi Animation Studios . The film is being written byTed Tally and produced byBrooke Breton . It is scheduled for release in 2011.Production Details
Originally, the film was a
DreamWorks Animation production way back in1998 . The film was announced for aDecember ,2002 release. Had this been the case, it would've been the third CGI production from DreamWorks, after "Antz " (1998), and "Shrek " (2001). However in August 2001, it was delayed to make way for "Shrek 2 " (2004 and "Madagascar" (2005). After the latter's release, "Tusker" was officially cancelled by DreamWorks for unknown reasons. It was never heard of or seen again...untilAugust 2008 , when Imagi announced that they had revived the project, and are currently working on it. The film will likely be seen in early 2011 at the earliest.Plot

Jeffrey Katzenberg , the company'sCEO , described it as being an homage toWorld War II films, such as "The Dirty Dozen " (1967) and "The Guns of Navarone" (1961.When the project was taken over by Imagi, they described a significantly different plot: The saga of a young elephant's journey of discovery, heroism and redemption, which intersects with and renews the life of a reclusive old elephant who has always been an outsider.
