Tony Delroy

Anthony Eric Delroy is an Australian radio personality and host of "NightLife" on ABC Local Radio.

After joining the Australian Broadcasting Corporation he worked on-air in Bathurst and Launceston before going to 702 ABC Sydney in 1987 and taking over the Nightlife program from 10.00 pm to 2.00 am. In 1990 the program went national and the ABC replaced the state-based late night programming with the Sydney-based show, a mix of current-affairs and entertainment.

The program made the news when two of the regular participants in the NightLife Challenge (25 question trivia quiz) got married, leading to an article in "That's Life" magazine.

Since the ABC started streaming the program online the show has attracted international listeners and emails have been received from listeners as far away as Canada and Mongolia.

The show's success as ABC radio's highest rating weekday act [ [http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2002/09/14/1031608343106.html The Age - Auntie hero talk of the town (Sept 15, 2002)] ] is bolstered by a team of experts who are featured every week to discuss such topics as motoring, literature, movies, American politics and travel destinations. The longest serving of these is travel adviser Fred Shaw who usually appears on the Monday night shows.

Rod Quinn or Libby Gorr usually fill in when Tony is unavailable.
