"Alpha Lambda Zeta" ("AΛZ") is an LGBT fraternity for professional and pre-professional women who identfy as aggressive lesbians. Membership in Alpha Lambda Zeta is not exclusive to women of a particular race or age. They were founded in 2006 in Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia [ Ladd, R. (June 21, 2008). The fraternity was established to positively impact the community while maintaining a fraternal bond that is fostered by understanding, acceptance and support for aggressive women (i.e. studs, tombois, aggs, butch). History

Alpha Lambda Zeta Fraternity, Inc. was founded on Janurary 9, 2006 in Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. With members in more than 10 US states, Alpha Lambda Zeta Fraternity has been continuing to expand to other states and working to promote social change.
