24 March 2011Jesse Sergent (born 8 July 1988 in Feilding) is a New Zealand racing cyclist for Team RadioShack.[1]
At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Sergent won the bronze medal as part of the New Zealand team in team pursuit, together with Sam Bewley, Hayden Roulston, and Marc Ryan.[2]
On 10 November 2008, it was announced that Sergent had signed with American cyclist Lance Armstrong's under-23 development team, Trek-Livestrong for 2009 and 2010. Sergent became a stagiere with Team Radioshack for the last part of the 2010 season.[3] He then signed a professional contract for 2011 with Team Radioshack [4]
He represented New-Zealand at the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in Delhi, India in October.
Jesse will base himself in Spain for the 2011 season.
