California and southernOregon where it grows in theserpentine soil s of theCascade Range and Sierra Nevada foothills. This onion grows from a reddish brownbulb up to about 2.5 centimeters long. It produces a stem up to 60 centimeters long and a single cylindrical leaf which is about the same length. Theinflorescence bears as many as 150 small flowers, each withtepal s less than a centimeter long in shades of pink to white.External links
