Okinori Kaya (賀屋 興宣 Kaya Okinori , January 30, 1889 - May 9, 1977) was the Japanese finance minister between 1941-1944. In 1945, he was captured by the Allies, tried by the International Military Tribunal for the Far East and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Paroled in 1955, he was later nominated as justice minister from 1957 until 1960.
In its obituary, Time magazine quoted Kaya as saying that communism means only a dog's life.[1]
